The oceans on Earth are very large and deep. There are 10 to 11 km wide and deep trenches at its bottom. Even at the bottom of the oceans there are landforms similar to the Earth's surface. 97% of the water on earth is salt water in the oceans.
Use of water on World Water Day
Creatures and plants living on earth cannot survive without water; Water is obtained through food or moisture from the air. The existence of water means the existence of organisms.
Salt water is used for human bathing, washing, cooking and drinking.
Water is used for various products in industry.
Water is used for irrigation of the farm.
Most of the moisture for precipitation on Earth comes from the oceans. At the bottom of the ocean lies a large amount of precious minerals.
We get salt from water and minerals such as manganese, iron, tin etc. are located at the bottom of it.
The ocean is also a storehouse of protein-rich foods.
The waves, currents and tides of the seas or oceans have tremendous power. Electricity can be obtained by blocking it.
Oceans have become waterways. Waterways have also been more convenient in the trade of different countries.
History of World Water Day
We all know that World Water Day is celebrated on March 22 in the world. This day was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 1993 to be celebrated on March 22 every year to raise public awareness about water conservation.
Prior to 1993, in 1992, the Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) "Schedule 21 of the Conference on Environment and Development discussed the importance of water and conservation for the first time. The second year, March 22 was declared as World Water Day by the United Nations.

Water is 71% on earth. But only 2.5% of fresh water is suitable for human consumption.
1.4 million people get sick and die every year. It is mainly due to bad water and lack of sanitation.
1 in 4 means almost 2 billion people lack drinking water.
Almost half (3.6 billion) of the global population lacks access to safe sanitation.
44% of the global population's household wastewater is not treated safely.
Global water demand is estimated to increase by 55% by 2050.
According to the United Nations report, 1 person should get 50 liters of water (2.5 buckets) of water.

વિશ્વ જળ દિન એ જળ - સંસાધન પૃથ્વી પર પીવાલાયક પાણીનું પ્રમાણ આશરે 3 % જેટલું છે. પૃથ્વીનો ત્રીજો ભાગ જળવિસ્તાર ધરાવે છે.પાણી કુદરત થકી મળેલી અણમોલ ભેટ છે. જળ એ જીવનની પ્રાથમિક માનવીની રોજબરોજની પ્રવૃત્તિઓ, ઉદ્યોગો અને ખેતી માટે જળ ખૂબ જ ઉપયોગી સ્રોત છે.
જળ - સંસાધનોમાં મહાસાગરો, ઉપસાગરો, નદીઓ, સરોવરો, ભૂમિગત જળ વગેરેનો સમાવેશ થાય છે, પૃથ્વી પર જળ - સંસાધનોનો મુખ્ય સ્રોત વરસાદ છે. બધા જ સ્રોત વરસાદ આભારી છે. પુષ્ટીય જળસ્રોતોમાં નદી, સરોવર, તળાવ, ઝરણાં વગેરેનો સમાવેશ થાય છે તેમાં મુખ્ય સ્રોત નદી ગણાય છે.
બાકીના પાણીનો આશરે પોણો ભાગ ધ્રુવો ૫૨ તથા હિમાલય જેવા બીજા ઊંચા પર્વતો પર બરફ રૂપે છે. જે પાણી પૃથ્વીના પેટાળમાં છે, સરોવરમાં અને નદીઓ રૂપે વહે છે તેનું પ્રમાણ ખૂબ જ ઓછું છે. આમ પૃથ્વી પર પાણી ત્રણ સ્વરૂપે છે: બરફ ઘન સ્વરૂપે, પાણી પ્રવાહી સ્વરૂપે અને વરાળ વાયુ સ્વરૂપે.
પૃથ્વીસપાટીનો લગભગ 71 % જેટલો વિસ્તાર જલાવરણથી ઘેરાયેલ છે. પૃથ્વીસપાટીનો આ વિસ્તાર એટલો વિશાળ છે કે એમાં ભૂમિખંડો પણ ટાપુ જેવા લાગે છે.
પૃથ્વી પરના વિશાળ જળરાશિ ધરાવતા ભાગોને 'મહાસાગરો' તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. જે ક્રમશઃ પૅસેફિક, ઍટલેન્ટિક, હિંદ અને આર્કટિક મહાસાગર તરીકે જાણીતા છે.
પૃથ્વી પરના મહાસાગરો ખૂબ વિશાળ અને ઊંડા છે. તેના તળિયે 10 થી 11 કિમી જેટલી વિશાળ અને ઊંડી ખાઈઓ છે. મહાસાગરોના તળિયે પણ પૃથ્વીસપાટી જેવાં ભૂમિસ્વરૂપો આવેલાં છે. પૃથ્વી પર જે પાણી છે તેમાંથી 97 % સમુદ્રમાં રહેલું ખારું પાણી છે.
વિશ્વ જળ દિવસે પાણીનો ઉપયોગ
પૃથ્વી પર રહેતા જીવો અને વનસ્પતિને
પાણી વિના ચાલતું નથી; પાણી ખોરાક સાથે મળે કે હવામાંથી ભેજરૂપે મળે. જલાવરણનું અસ્તિત્વ
એટલે જ સજીવસૃષ્ટિનું અસ્તિત્વ.
મીઠું પાણી માનવ નાહવા, ધોવા, રસોઈ અને પીવા માટે કરે છે.
ઉદ્યોગમાં વિવિધ ઉત્પાદનો માટે પાણી વપરાય છે.
ખેતીવાડી ની સિંચાઇ માટે પાણી વપરાય છે.
પૃથ્વી પરના વરસાદ માટેનો મોટાભાગનો ભેજ સમુદ્રમાંથી આવે છે. સમુદ્રના તળિયે કીમતી ખનીજોનો મોટો જથ્થો આવેલો છે.
પાણીમાંથી મીઠું મેળવીએ છીએ અને તેના તળિયે મેંગેનીઝ, લોખંડ, કલાઈ વગેરે ખનીજો આવેલાં છે.
સમુદ્ર પ્રોટીનયુક્ત આહારનો ભંડાર પણ છે.
સમુદ્રો કે મહાસાગરોનાં મોજાં, પ્રવાહો અને ભરતીમાં પ્રચંડ શક્તિ રહેલી છે. તેને અવરોધીને વિદ્યુતશક્તિ મેળવી શકાય છે.
મહાસાગરો જળપરિવહનના માર્ગો બન્યા છે. વિવિધ દેશોના વેપારમાં પણ જળમાર્ગો વધારે અનુકૂળ રહ્યા છે.

વિશ્વ જળ દિવસ 22 માર્ચ વિશ્વમાં ઉજવણી
કરવામાં આવે છે તે વિશે આપણે બધા જાણીએ છીએ. આ દિવસ યુનાઇટેડ નેશન ની જનરલ
એસેમ્બલીએ 1993 માં પાણીના સરક્ષણના વિશે લોકોમાં સમજણ વધારવા માટે દર વર્ષે 22
માર્ચે આ દિવસ ઉજવવાનું જાહેર કર્યું.
વિશ્વમાં જળ વિશે માહિતી
પૃથ્વી પર પાણી તો 71% છે. પણ મીઠા પાણીનો માનવ વપરાશ માટે
યોગ્ય માત્ર 2.5% છે.
દર વર્ષે 1.4 મિલિયન લોકો બિમાર પડે છે અને મૃત્યુ પામે છે. તે નું મુખ્ય કારણ
ખરાબ પાણી અને સ્વચ્છતા ન હોવાના કારણે થાય છે.
4 માંથી 1 એટલે લગભગ 2 અબજ લોકોને પીવાના પાણીનો અભાવ છે.
વૈશ્વિક વસ્તીના લગભગ અડધા (3.6 બિલિયન) લોકો સલામત સ્વચ્છતાનો અભાવ
જોવા મળે છે.
વૈશ્વિક વસ્તીના 44% ઘરગથ્થુ ગંદા પાણીની સુરક્ષિત રીતે
સ્વચ્છ કરવામાં આવતું નથી.
વૈશ્વિક સ્તરે 2050 સુધી 55% પાણીની માંગ વધવાનો અંદાજ છે.
યુનાઈટેડ નેશન્સ અહેવાલ અનુસાર 1 વ્યક્તિ 50 લિટર પાણી (2.5 ડોલ) પાણી મળવું જોઈએ.

આજે ઉપલબ્ધ જળ મર્યાદિત માત્રામાં છે. પ્રદૂષિત જળની ખૂબ મોટી સમસ્યા છે. જેથી પાણીના વિવેકપૂર્ણ ઉપયોગ અને તેની જાળવણીના ઉપાયો હાથ ધરવાની આવશ્યકતા છે.
જળ એ આપણી સહિયારી સંપદા છે. જળ - સંરક્ષણ માટે સામાન્ય ઉપાયો જેવા કે વધુમાં વધુ જળાશયોનું નિર્માણ કરવું, ભૂમિગત જળને ઉપર લાવવાના પ્રયત્નો કરવા, નદીઓના પાણીને રોકી જળ - સંચયન કરવાની જરૂરિયાત છે. વરસાદના જળને રોકી એકઠું કરવાના ઉપાયો પણ કરવા જોઈએ. જે જમીનનું અનુસ્ત્રવણ વધારી શકાય.
નાની નદીઓ પર બંધ તૈયાર કરવા, શોષકૂવા બનાવવા, ખેત - તલાવડી વગેરેનું નિર્માણ કરવું જોઈએ . આ સિવાય લોકજાગૃતિ લાવી જળ - સંરક્ષણમાં લોકભાગીદારી વધા૨વી. બાગ - બગીચા , શૌચાલયોમાં વપરાતાં પાણીનો કરકસરપૂર્વક ઉપયોગ કરવો જોઈએ. જળાશયો, નદીઓને પ્રદૂષણથી બચાવવા.
ખેતીવાડીમાં ટપક સિંચાઇ પદ્ધતિ, ફુવારા સિંચાઇ પદ્ધતિથી સિંચાઇ કરવી.
ભૂમિગત જળનો ઉપયોગ કરતાં એકમો પર દેખરેખ રાખવી જોઈએ.
ગરમીની મોસમમાં ફુવારા ચાલું રાખી કલાકો સુધી નાહવું નહીં.
ઘર કે સાર્વજનિક નળથી ટીપું ટીપું પાણીને બચાવવું, ટીપે ટીપે સરોવર ભરાય. હમિગબર્ડ જો ટીપું પાણીથી આગ બુઝાવવાનું સાહસ કરે તો તમે તો માનવો?
